<h3>Questions to size up your mud system:</h3>

<p>Factors above are important to know so that you use a recycler that is adequate enough to clean the mud and protect the components on the rig, pump and cleaner. Once you have decided on the size of the mud system you need, there is more information that you should be armed with:<br />
Gallons per Minute: When deciding the size of a <a title="Mud System" href="http://www.gnsolidscontrol.com/drilling-mud-system/">mud system</a> that you will need, it is best to base it on 1 ½ to two times the amount you are pumping. Example: If you are pumping 250 gals, you would want to go with a 500-gpm unit.</p>
<p>Trailer or Skid mounted mud system: Depending on your requirements, mud systems can be trailer mounted or skid mounted. Trailer-mounted units require dedicated trailer (built to unit). Skid-mounted unit can be removed from trailer which releases the trailer for other duties.Another option is that you can get the hydraulic jack up mud system.</p>
<p>Screen surface: The more screen surface area you have means more volume that you can clean.</p>
<p>Screen selection: The mesh size of screens is measured by the number of holes per square inch on the screen. Different mesh sizes control the size of the cuttings that you remove. The same mesh size will not work in all drilling conditions. Sizes will vary depending on the size of the cuttings and the type of formations you are cleaning.</p>
<p>Shale Shakers: Shale Shaker is the most important equipment for mud system.There are three types of shakers (orbital, elliptical and linear). Orbital is a circular motion and elliptical isn’t perfectly circular — it’s an ellipse or oval. Linear has vibration that is induced by a pair of eccentric (or eccentrically weighted) shafts turning in opposite directions. This type of arrangement allows for the development of straight line or linear motion that can also be produced in a positive (uphill) incline.<br />
While each shaker has a specific place that it will shine like the price, the ability to process heavy clays and rock or fines and ultra-fines, our overall preference is the linear.</p>
<p><a title="Desander" href="http://www.gnsolidscontrol.com/desander/">Desander Desilter</a> Cones: Depending on the size of the mud system you choose, the cone size will either be 4, 5, 10 or 12 in. Each size cone has a micron cut point, which is the size of the smallest particle that the cone can pull out. The 4- and 5-in. cones have a micron cut of 20 microns and the 10- and 12-in. have a 74 micron cut.<br />
Hydrocyclone cones process the liquid at a rate of 50 gpm with the 4-in. cones, 80 gpm with the 5-in. and 500 gpm with the 10- or 12-in. cones.</p>
<p>Cones need pressure to work properly. A normal operating pressure range for 4- and 5-in. cones is 30 to 40 psi, 10- and 12-in. cones is 23 to 35 psi.</p>
<p>Trash Pump for feeding mud system: Do you have a trash pump for your recycler? Trash pumps are designed to pump large amounts of water that contains hard and soft solids. Trash pumps are capable of processing materials that would clog other centrifugal pumps and can move hundreds or even thousands of gallons per minute.</p>
<p><a title="Decanter Centrifuge" href="http://www.gnsolidscontrol.com/decanting-centrifuge/">Decanter Centrifuge</a> for mud system:The decanter centrifuge in mud system is for separation ultra-fine solids,and recovery for barite and.It is an expensive equipments in mud system,but it can give you much better performance.</p>
<p>Vacuum Degasser:The vacuum degasser is usually used in mud system for oil drilling rig bigger then 650 Hp.</p>

<p align="left">The GN Atmospheric/Centrifugal Degasser is a special in-tank alternative to the standard GNCQ series Vacuum Type Degasser. The GNAD Series Degasser is a self contained unit without needing for centrifugal pump to feed drilling mud.</p>
<p>The GNAD Series Atmospheric/Centrifugal Degasser retained gas from drilling muds. Atmospheric degassers process mud by accelerating fluid through a submersible pump impeller and impinging the fluid on stationary baffles to maximize surface area and thus enable gasses to escape to the atmosphere.</p>

<h3>Working Principle of the the Vertical Cutting Dryer?</h3>
<p align="left">Vertical cutting dryer use centrifugal force generated by mechanical rotation to separate solid and liquid. The drilling cutting entered into the space between the sieve basket and the scraper, through the feeding inlet and the fabric cone, under the centrifugal force, the drilling fluids flow into catchment tank along the above cover through the material layer and sieves. Then the fluids is discharged from the outlet pipe in both side, the solids is remained in the basket. Because of the speed difference between the screw scraper and sieve basket, the screw scraper cut the solids from sieve basket, then push them to the bottom of sieve basket, so the dehydrated solids are discharged into the collecting funnel continuously.The liquid phased will be further treated by the <a title="Decanter Centrifuge" href="http://www.gnsolidscontrol.com/decanting-centrifuge/">Decanter centrifuge</a> which GN also have it availalbe.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The types and quantities of solids (insoluble components) present in <a title="drilling fluid system for sale" href="http://www.gnsolidscontrol.com/fluids-processing-system/">drilling mud systems </a>play major roles in the fluid’s density, viscosity, filter-cake quality/filtration control, and other chemical and mechanical properties. The type of solid and its concentration influences mud and well costs, including factors such as drilling rate, hydraulics, dilution rate, torque and drag, surge and swab pressures, differential sticking, lost circulation, hole stability, and balling of the bit and the bottom-hole assembly. These, in turn, influence the service life of bits, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. Insoluble polymers, clays, and weighting materials are added to drilling mud to achieve various desirable properties.</p>
<p align="left">Drilled solids, consisting of rock and low-yielding clays, are incorporated into the mud continuously while drilling. To a limited extent, they can be tolerated and may even be beneficial. Dispersion of clay-bearing drilled solids creates highly charged colloidal particles (&lt;2 mm) that generate significant viscosity, particularly at low shear rates, which aids in suspension of all solids. If the clays are sodium montmorillonite, the solids will also form thin filter cakes and control filtration (loss of liquid phase) into the drilled formation(<a title="world top brand solids control system supplier" href="http://www.gnsolidscontrol.com/">GN Solids Control</a>). Above a concentration of a few weight percent, dispersed drilled solids can generate excessive low-shear-rate and high-shear-rate viscosities, greatly reduced drilling rates, and excessively thick filter cakes. </p>

<p align="left">As shown in Figure 1, increasing the mud density from 10 lb/gal to 18 lb/gal requires that the MBT be reduced by half. Whereas low mud densities may require only mud dilution in combination with a simple mechanical separator, high mud densities may require a more complex strategy: (a) chemical treatment to limit dispersion of the drilled solids (e.g., use of a shale inhibitor or deflocculant like lignosulfonate), (b) more frequent dilution of the drilling fluid with base fluid, and (c) more complex solidsremoval equipment, such as mud cleaners and centrifuges.</p>

<p align="left">In either case, solids removal is one of the most important aspects of mud system control, since it has a direct bearing on drilling efficiency and represents an opportunity to reduce overall drilling costs. A diagram of a typical mud circulating system, including various solids-control devices, is shown in Figure 2. While some dilution with fresh treated mud is necessary and even desirable, sole reliance on dilution to control buildup of drilled solids in the mud is very costly.</p>

Sometimes clients requires the final solid less than 5 micron, then you need decanter centrifuges, but it needs a lot of centrifuges. When we make the first system, took some time to figure out why not use a mud cleaner, with desander cones and desilter cones on the top of the shaker. Since dredging project is considering more about the envioment, also they have to consider about how to use the separated solids. The bigger part, for the road; small part, for making cement; and so on.<br />
Our fluid divider pipe usually 10&#8243;, so if you use 10&#8243; or 12&#8243; pipe to connect with the dredger pump, you can pump the mixture directly to the shale shaker. Our shaker will use rug type screen to do this job.<br />
